Main research fields: For a long time, he has engaged in the research of deep geophysical exploration and geodynamics, especially using the deep seismic reflection profiling technique to reveal the lithospheric structure and geodynamic processes. Deep seismic reflection profiling has been carried out in the Qinghai Tibet Plateau and the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, and many important discoveries have been made. He has directed 1 project of the of national key R&D,1 project of major national science and technology, 2 projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, 1 project of youth foundation, 2 projects of Key Laboratory Foundation of the Ministry of Education, and 1 project of the fundamental research business expenses of Institute of Geology. There are many papers published in academic journals both at home and abroad.
